Getting Started
For me, the hardest part about swimming is getting in. It doesn't matter whether you're taking a dip in the pool, lake or ocean. Slipping your toes in hardly counts and only promises that the water will either be just as cold as it feels on your little digits, or even colder. It's even the case in Hawaii at Christmas time, like when this picture was taken. True, it is warm year-round in a spot such as off the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, but even there it takes a little something to get in, wander past the coral, and maintain your cool around the Reef Sharks. Once you're in you can start swimming.
